Privacy Policy
How Globlo collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Introduction
Globlo ("Globlo," "we," "us," or "our") operates a marketplace platform connecting Trip Managers, Service Providers, and Travellers and Photographers for wildlife and photography travel across India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and platform, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using Globlo, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account and profile information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and role on the platform (Trip Manager, Service Provider, or Traveller). Trip Managers and Service Providers may also provide business details, credentials, and listing information.
- Location information. With your permission, we may collect location data to support safety features during a trip, such as sharing an itinerary's general location with an emergency contact, and to help match travellers with relevant listings.
- Payment details. Payments made through Globlo are processed by a third-party payment gateway. We do not store full card or bank account numbers on our own servers; the payment processor handles and secures that data under its own security standards, and shares with us only what is necessary to confirm and reconcile a transaction.
- Uploaded media. Photographs, listing images, and other files you upload to the platform, including content submitted for the public gallery.
- Usage and device information. Information about how you interact with our website and platform, such as pages visited, general device type, browser, and approximate location inferred from IP address.
- Communications. Messages you send us through the contact form, email, or in-platform messaging, including any information you choose to include in them.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and verify your identity as a Trip Manager, Service Provider, or Traveller.
- Facilitate bookings and route payments between the parties involved in a trip.
- Provide safety-related features, such as trip location sharing where you have enabled it.
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the platform, including detecting fraud and misuse.
- Improve our website and platform based on how they are actually used.
- Send you service-related communications, such as booking confirmations or policy updates.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who we share information with
Globlo shares information with a limited set of third parties, and only as needed to operate the platform:
- Payment gateway providers. To process payments and transfers between Travellers, Trip Managers, and Service Providers.
- Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers. To store data and run the platform securely.
- Messaging and notification providers. To deliver emails, SMS, or push notifications related to your account and bookings.
- Other platform participants, where relevant. For example, a Traveller's booking details are shared with the Trip Manager and Service Providers involved in that specific trip, and vice versa, so the trip can actually happen.
- Legal and regulatory authorities. Where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Globlo, our users, or the public.
We require our third-party processors to handle your data in line with applicable data protection law and only for the purposes we've engaged them for.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, tax, or dispute-resolution obligations. Booking and payment records may be retained longer where required by financial regulation. Uploaded media may be retained until you remove it or request deletion, subject to any content that has already been made public through the gallery or a listing.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal and legitimate business obligations.
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses, such as location sharing, at any time.
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@globlo.app. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and in line with applicable law.
7. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses essential cookies required for the site to function, and may use analytics tools to understand aggregate usage patterns, such as which pages are viewed and for how long. Analytics data is used in aggregate and is not used to build advertising profiles of individual users. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the core website.
8. Children's privacy
Globlo is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have done so, we will take steps to delete that information.
9. Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "last updated" date above when we do, and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
